Places to get lost and less crowded destinations: Tajikistan, Burkina Faso, Marshall Islands and Venezuela

The time to plan the holidays is approaching. Travel agencies generally offer closed packages to travel to places prepared for tourism and very crowded. If what you want for your vacation are getaways to lost destinations and discover places that still retain their essence, we propose four alternatives on different continents that will allow you to live and enjoy unforgettable experiences.

Asia: Tajikistan

Tajikistan is a small Central Asian country that is on the list of the 20 least visited countries in the world. Its climate varies from continental (mild temperatures) to almost polar depending on whether we are in the mountains or on the plain. There is no exit to the sea.

The main attraction of Tajikistan are its mountains, ideal for trekking fans. Four large areas can be distinguished: to the southeast, the Guissaro-Alai, Tian Shan and Pamir mountains; to the north, Pamirs and Paropamiz; to the southwest, the valleys of Guissar and Vachs; crossing the entire country the Turkestan, Alai and Zeravsan mountain ranges.

On the other hand, Tajikistan lacks a social life in its cities. Apart from a concert and the Spring Festival (March 21), you can’t go out at night, so you have to stay in the hotel bar.

Africa: Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is an African country located next to the Ivory Coast. It has access to the sea and it is possible to communicate in French. Like Tajikistan, it is one of the 20 least visited destinations in the world.

In addition to the landscape, Burkina Faso allows you to see first-hand the daily life of its inhabitants. The Gorom market, the concerts of local instruments and the possibility of visiting the markets, houses, potters and other traditional professions are a good example of this.

Unlike Tajikistan, Burkina Faso has a lively life on the streets of its cities. You can visit the nightly musical terraces of Ouaga and on weekends the cities of Ouaga and Bobó enjoy a great atmosphere.

Pacific: Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands are 1,152 islands that form a republic to the northeast of Australia, in the Pacific. In total they add up to 176 k² of land scattered over a million km².

The islands offer water sports, especially diving and spearfishing. Majuro and Ebeye have a lively nightlife and traditional dance performances and video projections are common.

America: Venezuela

Venezuela is one of the least visited countries in America. The most recognizable part is the one on the mainland, but Venezuela also has a large number of islets scattered throughout the Caribbean.

To the south is La Gran Sabana, one of the oldest places in the world. It is an explosion of nature with abundant fauna and spectacular waterfalls. To the west, Los Andes, whose highest peak is approached (although not reached) by the cable car that leaves the city of Mérida.

The deserts are to the northwest: in the Médanos de Coro area one can slide down the sand dunes. And to all this are added 1,700 kilometers of beaches and the lively life of its most cosmopolitan cities (Caracas, Maracaibo, Maturín, Mérida, etc.).

Recommendations for traveling

If you choose any of these countries or opt for another destination outside the usual circuits, it is good that you consult the recommendations for the chosen place that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs makes available to us on its website. You will also find a useful list with the procedures necessary to enter each country.
