Air travel is now accessible to all budgets, thanks in part to low cost companies, but also to the change in perception that has occurred in recent years regarding forms of leisure, with tourism becoming almost a necessity. Be that as it may, the fact is that now we travel more, and one of the preferred means of transport is the plane, so flights are becoming a regular part of our lives. But we wonder if we really know how to behave correctly on a plane.
The perfect passenger
The Sky scanner flight search engine has carried out a survey among more than 700 flight attendants from all over the world to find out first-hand what the perfect passenger is like and what are the behaviors that they least tolerate and that make their job much more difficult. The result of the survey is compelling. The perfect passenger is that man between 30-40 years’ old who travels for pleasure.
Thanks to this survey, we know a little more about the bad habits of passengers on flights. Thus, we know that attracting the attention of flight attendants by snapping your fingers is a behavior that denotes a great lack of education and that probably makes you less eager to be served. Getting up from your seat earlier than allowed is something that cabin crew do not like either, nor do they take it well when you overdo it with hand luggage and then complain that there is not enough space in the compartments.
Something that is especially annoying is that the passenger talks during the safety explanations and that he leaves garbage in the seat pocket is not very well seen either. Still, as annoying as passengers we can be, flight attendants prefer to work with economy class travelers, which goes to show that education isn’t about money.
Passenger complaints
The truth is that it would not hurt to review our behavior on board, because it is true that there are flights that become authentic torture. Because there are people who forget that we have to spend a few hours in a fairly small space and that, for example, people who are trying to sleep will be annoyed if you talk very loudly or yell with your partner.
Children are especially problematic passengers because it is not about the inconvenience that a child’s continuous crying can cause, which is something that cannot be avoided, but what bothers the most is the neglect of those parents who do nothing while the child is engaged in kicking in the front seat. A situation from which you cannot escape in any way.
And we could also complain, as passengers that we are, about some of the attitudes of the airlines and, why not, also of some cabin crew, such as queues at the airport, problems due to excess baggage or the quality of catering which decreases with each flight we make.
